car is white now arrg
Like Julie, my clear coat started bubbling white on top of car, now its doing it all over. 2002 Mitsubishi eclipse, black turning to white, 58,000 miles. There should be a recall on this situation.

Bad Paint
I have a 2002 mitsubishi galant. The paint has been fading off of it for the last year and a half. I called last year and the dealership told me that my warranty was up and there was nothing they could do. Now it is ten times worse. The paint has completely faded off the roof and is now starting to fade on the sides and the trunk. If I wasn't still paying on the car it might not bother me so bad, but I have a really hard time writing the check every month with a car that looks like this. I had a Honda for seven years before this car and the paint still looked brand new. Mitsubishi needs to step up and make this right for the consumers.

Paint coming off
I have a 2003 black gt Eclipse. I have paint coming of near the moonroof in 2 spots. I'm seeing alot of grey. It looks as if the car has been repainted. Until I decided to do my research and found that there are so many people with the same problems that I have. If someone who has a 2000 yr Eclipse and it's less than a yr old and the paint is coming off. How can you explain that! If it's natural for the clear coat to come off after some years, then why is it not happening to cars of other colors and it should't be happening on a car thats even 3 or 4 yrs old. To me thats a fairly new car. I wouldn't even have bought this car if I would've known this would happen. I will tell other peopl thinking of getting an eclipse, to not do it. Unless Mitsubishi does something about it and recalls the cars to repaint. I also don't think it's fair that some people get their cars repainted and others don't. Most of us are having the same problems because of mitsubishi. It's not our fault and it obviously has very little to do with age of car and mileage, if you read some of these complaints. If anyone in the Maryland area would like to go to a Mitsubishi dealership together we can and protest, to have them repaint. Please, email me, whomever is interested. Thanks.

2003 BLACK Eclipse GTS
Any word on the magic paint used on the black eclipses that changes colors after a couple of years. I purchased the Eclipse GTS new that was black when I bought the car. Now the top of the car is turning white. Of course Mitsubishi corporate takes no blame. BUY Toyota, Honda, Nissan!!!

2006 Eclipse GT Leak
We bought a new Eclipse in May and a couple months later while driving it in the rain it starts raining inside the car. The water was pouring in through the air bag slots and the sunroof controls. Took it in once to get it fixed. We got it back stating it was resealed and good to go. Next hard rain and now it is leaking again. I am worried about the air bag failing or other water damage that will most likely occur. Some of it might not come about until after the warranty and I know what they will say then. Anybody that knows how to resolve this problem please let me know. Thanks.

2002 mit ecliple spider gt
I need to know why water collects when it rains under the carper in my back seats. Nothing else is wet and dont know its there till it stinks. someone please help me. I talked to the dealer where I bought the car his answer was that all convertables leaked. I paid 27000. for the car new.

Bent rims, Oxidizing paint on Black eclipse. Poorly put together and designed car. Had a problem with the suspension squeeking and took it in when it was under warranty to get fixed. They changed the struts. So a week later when the squeeking came back I was out of warranty. Mitsubishi proceeded to tell me that it was the rear bushing and that I would need to pay to get it fixed...even though I took it in under warranty to get the correct problem fixed and they misdiagnosed the problem

dealer problem
i want to express my annoyance with mitsubishi dealers i have an 05 GS remix edition I had to take the car to the dealer 3 times because my the clips in the inside hatch cover would loosen and create a squeak noise the dealer pushed the panel back twice and the noise went a away for a week and I even called the factory customer service line the service manager said that they would take care of it and they did they put butyl tape on the panel which begs the question why couldnt they replace the panel I work at a Nissan dealer (which is owned by the same guy who owns the Mitsu dealer) we would have put a new panel on the car why is waranty such a bad word in Mitsu world??

2007 eclipse
i have a fairly new eclipe. the cd's were getting stuck in cd player. i had the cd player replaced. also, water is coming in from heaven knows where. took it in - car was washed at the dealership and couldn't find leak. i was told to wait till it rains and then bring it back to see again if they can find where water is coming from. help!!!!! does anyone know where water could be coming in the car from?

I bought a 2002 Eclipse that had the same black paint problem and after a few weeks of investigating I was able to go to battle with Mitsubishi with my findings. Mitsubishi some how neglected to add the clear coat protection to all black paint and finally admitted to this. After about a month or so I got my car painted free of charge with clear coat added. Hope this helps and keep on the dealerships to have something done. Let them know you know what happened with the paint and that they have admitted the error.

dashboard cracks
My 2003 Eclipse dashboard is cracking. I know of atleast two other car owners that have the same problem. When I called the manufacture their customer service sucks! Very rude,and not very helpful. When I brought my vehicle to the dealership, they said the manufacturing company will 1/2 the price of the replacement at my cost $500.00!!! There is something wrong. I also have "the spot"problems with my car and it's silver. I am not very happy with Mitsubishi!
